As the largest multicultural population (18.7%), the second fastest growing in the U.S., and the youngest of the nation's racial and ethnic groups, this community is growing and building upon itself. Therefore, its financial well-being is critical.

The contributions of the Hispanic/Latinx culture to the U.S. are countless.

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, Capital One is celebrating and honoring the many diverse backgrounds of this proud and vibrant community to show how so many individuals come together to form one beautiful mosaico. We're committed to investing in the community, implementing workplace policies and amplifying voices of the community year-long.

We are many. We are one.

People who identify as Hispanic/Latinx are considered a pan-ethnicity -- a mosaic of people from any race, interconnected by culture and linguistic heritages. And, while most Hispanic Americans come from seven countries, thousands of identities are represented within the larger group. At Capital One, the Mosaico is a labor of love and every contribution counts. We're celebrating the ways we all come together to live the mosaico. Whether you're Hispanic/Latinx, an ally or an advocate for this group, you're an important part of the mosaico.

We're committed to building an inclusive culture and environment-an environment where all employees of any culture or heritage feel they belong and everyone is accepted.

We're inviting people in. Piece by piece, we're becoming something more-a mosaico of legacies and people.

Let's celebrate how all these people, from the community, advocates and allies, connect to make something beautiful.

Let's call out common bonds, common challenges and important causes.

Let's do it with a powerful visual metaphor that vibrantly portrays what we already know-Hispanic/Latinx people are unified in their diversity.

Business Resource Group, ¡HOLA!, hosting Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations

Our Business Resource Groups (BRGs) at Capital One play an important role in attracting, developing tomorrow's leaders, engaging and retaining our diverse workforce and enhancing the richness of our workplace for all associates. They provide resources for professional development, connections, cultural celebrations and community engagement.

The mission of the BRG, ¡HOLA! is to empower Hispanic/Latinx associates and allies to thrive both in and out of Capital One. ¡HOLA! believes we are stronger together and strives to ensure that all members feel a deep sense of belonging, discover valuable avenues to participate and feel invested.

Emilia Lopez, Accountable Executive for Capital One's HOLA Business Resource Group (BRG) and Senior Vice President, U.S. Card, emphasizes the importance of BRGs as a pathway to fostering a more inclusive work environment.

'This Hispanic Heritage Month, Capital One is ensuring that our commitment to celebrating the Hispanic/Latinx community is known,' Lopez said. 'Our company champions equity, advancement and economic growth through our own workforce and through our community investments. Embracing diversity in all forms is foundational to who we are as a company and how we work. This year we are highlighting and celebrating the mosaic of cultures that make up this growing and vibrant community and beyond.'

Capital One is proud support the Hispanic/Latinx community

In line with the vibrant cultures represented within the Hispanic/Latinx community, we want to celebrate the contributions and amplify everyone's voices who support this diverse group.

At Capital One, we believe it's our responsibility to advocate for an equitable and inclusive society. To honor and celebrate the contributions of everyone who supports this diverse group, Capital One is awarding a $500,000 grant to long-time partner UnidosUS who is a leading community organization within the Hispanic/Latinx community.

UnidosUS, previously known as NCLR (National Council of La Raza), is the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. For almost 50 years, UnidosUS has united communities and advocated for Hispanics in the areas of civic engagement, civil rights and immigration, education, workforce, the economy, health and housing.

Capital One's contribution will support UnidosUS's Racial Equity Initiative that focuses on programs that break down social, economic and systemic barriers for Hispanic/Latinx communities.

That grant is a part of our effort to support the Hispanic/Latinx community through the Capital One Impact Initiative, a $200 million, multi-year commitment to support growth in underserved communities and advance socioeconomic mobility by closing gaps in equity and opportunity.

Through the Capital One Impact Initiative, we will invest in diverse communities and businesses and support organizations that expand economic opportunity, particularly for Black and Hispanic/Latinx communities.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, our cafés will transform into a space celebrating the Hispanic/Latinx community and its diversity. We will also sponsor events, amplify stories and partner with the Hispanic/Latinx community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and advocate for change.

We will also activate our associate Business Resource Group (BRG) ¡HOLA! and Hispanics in Tech (HIT) to support the Hispanic/Latinx community through associate engagement and events.

At Capital One, we are a proud supporter of diversity and equality initiatives, including partnerships with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and its efforts to provide leadership, public service, and policy experience to Latinx students and young professionals in order to address issues facing the nation and the Hispanic community.

Find your place in the mosaico

We recognize that we are not at the finish line, and more work needs to get done to reach inclusive financial well-being. There's awareness to be raised, policy to be changed and equality to be achieved. But when we come together as a community, our voices are more powerful, celebrations are more memorable and our impact more lasting.
