VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Capstone Mining Corp. (CSFFF) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss of $21.8 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 6 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 4 cents per share.

The base metals mining company posted revenue of $70.4 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit 34 cents. A year ago, they were trading at 49 cents.
