VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Capstone Mining Corp. (CSFFF) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $101 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 24 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 16 cents per share.

The base metals mining company posted revenue of $204.1 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $4.12. A year ago, they were trading at 32 cents.
