SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (AP) _ CareDx Inc. (CDNA) on Thursday reported a loss of $19.6 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the South San Francisco, California-based company said it had a loss of 37 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, came to 13 cents per share.

The molecular diagnostics company posted revenue of $79.4 million in the period, surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $78.6 million.

CareDx expects full-year revenue in the range of $330 million to $350 million.

CareDx shares have decreased 30% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $31.66, a decline of 57% in the last 12 months.
