Carrier Global Corporation reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported revenue was USD 5,341 million compared to USD 5,002 million a year ago. Net income was USD 469 million compared to USD 741 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.54 compared to USD 0.86 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.53 compared to USD 0.84 a year ago.
For the nine months, revenue was USD 15,480 million compared to USD 12,862 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1,340 million compared to USD 1,098 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.54 compared to USD 1.27 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.5 compared to USD 1.25 a year ago.
Carrier Global Corporation specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems for industrial and domestic use. Products are sold under the brand names Carrier, Automated Logic, Bryant, CIAT, Day & Night, Heil, NORESCO, Riello, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold, Sensitech and others. In addition, the group provides security systems (burglar alarms, access control and video surveillance systems) and fire detection and protection systems, notably under the Autronica, Chubb, Det-Tronics, Edwards, Fireye, GST, Interlogix, Kidde, LenelS2, Marioff, Onity and Supra brands.
Net sales break down by source of income between sales of products (88.5%) and sales of services (11.5%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the United States (55.2%), Europe (21.4%), Asia/Pacific (19.7%) and other (3.7%).
