Cavotec has signed a contract with one of the world’s largest shipping lines to supply shore power equipment to newbuild container ships. The total order value is EUR 6.65 million, and deliveries will take place between late 2023 and early 2025. The contract is further strengthening Cavotec’s leading position in the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

The order is for Cavotec’s PowerFit units, which are complete containerized solutions for the high-voltage connection of vessels to shore. The PowerFit units enable dramatic reduction of local air and noise pollution at ports, minimizing the vessels’ environmental impact.

“We are very pleased to receive this repeat order which is based on our successful cooperation with the customer over the last few years. We look forward to helping more ships in the world switch off their auxiliary generators and contributing to improved air quality and reduced noise”, says Patrick Mares, President of the Ports & Maritime Division at Cavotec.

Since the 1980s, ports around the world use Cavotec shore power solutions. As of today, more than one thousand ocean going vessels are outfitted with Cavotec’s cutting edge shore power technologies.
