At cbdMD, we're always looking for new ways to expand the benefits of CBD in new and exciting applications. WithcbdMD Botanicals, our line of natural skin care products, we stepped into the world of premium CBD beauty products. Now, with our new CBD Body Care suite, we're bringing CBD skin care to everybody.

No matter your age, gender, lifestyle, or skin type, you're likely to experience CBD benefits from adding our natural skin care products to your daily skin care routine. We'll describe in detail our sugar scrub, dry body oil, and body butter, what their benefits are, and how they fit together to achieve glowing skin. But first, let's look at some of the ingredients they all have in common.

Natural Ingredients of CBD Body Care

As we've discussed previously in ouroverview of CBD skin care, we're very picky about what we put into cbdMD Botanicals. All of our natural skin care products are cruelty-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO, and the only animal product any of them contains is beeswax. But since you know what isn't in there, just what is in there?

In the case of the CBD Body Care line, we've formulated the three products around a base of argan oil, shea butter, and coconut oil and infused them with our Superior Broad Spectrum CBD formula and one of three natural scents.

Argan Oil Benefits for Skin

Argan oil, extracted from the kernels of a Moroccan tree, has long been used by the locals as a moisturizer and to protect them from the blazing North African sun. Argan oil is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, both of which nourish and moisturize skin. It also helps seal in the moisture that's already there to prevent drying.

Shea Butter Benefits for Skin

Shea butter comes from the nut of a West African tree, though it causes no known reaction in people who are normally allergic to tree nuts. In fact, there are no known allergic reactions to it at all, so it's a good choice for those with sensitive skin. It also contains antioxidants and fatty acids, and it can act as a mild sunscreen with a natural, inherent SPF of 6.

Benefits of Coconut Oil for Skin

Coconut oil is thick and creamy because it's high in saturated fats and makes the best moisturizer for dry skin. Coconut oil also provides nourishment through fatty acids and nutrients to keep the skin healthy and glowing.

Superior Broad Spectrum CBD Formula for Skin

We've discussed in a separate post howCBD is absorbed through the skin, bringing its soothing CBD benefits through endocannabinoid receptors under the surface. cbdMD's Superior Broad Spectrum extract includes a range of cannabinoids and terpenes from hemp to bring added benefits while keeping it THC-free.*

Natural Scents in CBD Body Care

We know that nature is filled with wonderful scents of its own, so we don't fill our natural skin care products with artificial perfumes. We use only natural aromas and extracts to create three scents for our CBD Body Care line: lavender chamomile, deep sea, and pure coconut.

  • Lavender Chamomile:As advertised, this scent was created with extracts of lavender and chamomile, with a bit ofadded zest of orange peel oil to give it a full, pleasant, and soothing herbal aroma.
  • Deep Sea: This is a bracingly fresh scent with notes of cypress, perfect for those who don't want a floral scent as part of their routine.
  • Pure Coconut: Again, this is pretty much what it sounds like: the sweet tropical aroma of coconut. A good choice if you're already using coconut oil-based soap or shampoo.

Once you've chosen your scents, you can select the right bath and body products to suit your needs.

Sugar Scrub

Our sugar scrub is a mild exfoliant, gentle enough to use every day. It naturally lifts away dead skin cells and impurities while acting as the best moisturizer for dry skin and contains natural botanical oils.

Why Use Exfoliating Sugar Scrub?

Sugar has several benefits over the artificial beads and abrasives used in many exfoliants. Because it's water-soluble, it naturally softens when applied to damp skin, so even sensitive skin types can use it. Sugar is also a humectant, meaning that it helps the skin to retain moisture. And because it's biodegradable, it's better for the environment too!

Replenish Skin with Natural Oil

When you strip away dead skin by exfoliating, you want to make sure the fresh skin underneath is ready to face the world. That's why we've enhanced our sugar scrub with argan oil, shea butter, and coconut oil to replenish and protect the skin.

How to Use Sugar Scrub

After you've cleaned yourself in the shower, scoop some CBD sugar scrub out of the tub with your fingers and massage it over your body. Rinse off with warm water.

Dry Body Oil

Dry body oil delivers CBD benefits with feather-light hydration in spray form, perfect if you want to avoid a greasy residue.

What Is Dry Body Oil?

Dry body oil is body oil that absorbs so quickly that it leaves no sticky or greasy feeling on the skin. cbdMD's dry body oil is in a spray bottle so that you can spritz a light layer all over your body.

What's in Dry Body Oil?

In addition to our Superior Broad Spectrum CBD formula, CBD dry body oil contains argan oil, shea butter, and coconut oil, along with olive oil and rosemary leaf extract. The result is a light, transparent oil rather than bath oil.

How to Use Dry Body Oil

Simply spray it onto your body, anywhere below your neck except on mucous membranes. You can rub it into the skin if you like, but that's not strictly necessary. Moisturizing tends to be most effective right after a shower, but you can use it anytime your skin feels dry or tight.

Body Butter

Body butter provides rich, nourishing hydration for your skin, enhanced by the soothing power of CBD.

What is Body Butter?

Body butter is an extra thick, creamy moisturizer that acts as the best moisturizer for dry skin and helps keep skin soft and supple and prevent cracking, itching, and irritation associated with dry skin.

What's in Body Butter?

Body butter includes the same natural oils as the other CBD Body Care products - argan oil, shea butter, coconut oil - and cocoa butter, which makes the formula the best moisturizer for dry skin. . It also includes aloe vera juice, which brings extra soothing properties.

How to Use Body Butter

Massage body butter gently into the skin wherever you feel dry. Like the body oil, it's most effective when applied after washing so you can seal in moisture, but it can help soften skin anytime.

CBD Body Care in Your Daily Skin Care Routine

All of our CBD Body Care products are gentle enough to use every day in your skin care routine, even the exfoliant. While the amount and frequency of use depends on factors like skin type and season, you can easily integrate all three products into your daily shower. To purchase a set in the same scent, try a CBD body bundle!

Step One: Exfoliate

While you're still in the shower but after you've cleansed and rinsed, you can use the sugar scrub. Rinse it off thoroughly to remove any grit, though you'll probably still feel some of the oils softening your skin.

Step Two: Spray on Dry Body Oil

After you've gotten out of the shower, gently pat yourself dry with a towel and spritz yourself all over with the dry body oil. Give it a minute or two to absorb into the skin.

Step Three: Apply Body Butter

For a thorough moisturizing, follow this up by applying the body butter. You can add it to extreme dry areas, or if you feel you need it, just put it on everywhere below your neck, again avoiding mucous membranes.

Can You Use CBD Body Care with Other CBD Products?

If you're already using an ingestible CBD product, like tinctures or gummies, using CBD skin care won't affect your daily intake because CBD applied topically doesn't enter your bloodstream. You can go on using the same amount you use now.

When it comes to topical CBD products, it depends on the purpose of the topical. Topical products that include active pain medicines, like cbdMDFreeze,Recover, andRelieveformulas, are made to be used temporarily to relieve pain in targeted areas, so use them only as much as you need them.

On the other hand,CBD bath bombs and bath saltscan make a fine complement to a CBD skin care routine. You can even select coordinating scents - for instance; a lavender-scented bath bomb would pair well with lavender chamomile body care products.
