CBRE : Strengthens DE&I Efforts with Addition of Two Seasoned Professionals

03/04/2021 | 03:19pm EDT

CBRE announced it has expanded its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) team with the addition of two new professionals, Ryan Mitchell and LaTonya Woodson.

Mr. Mitchell will lead DE&I efforts for CBRE's Advisory Services and Real Estate Investments businesses, and drive activities for its Corporate functions. He has more than 20 years of DE&I experience, serves as an adjunct professor at Warner University, and is a published author. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from Walden University. Prior to CBRE, Mr. Mitchell served as vice president of talent development and diversity & inclusion at Texas Capital Bank.

Ms. Woodson will lead DE&I efforts for CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions business. She has more than 20 years of DE&I and talent management experience and is a published author and DE&I facilitator at Cornell University. Ms. Woodson received her Ph.D. in applied technology & performance improvement from the University of North Texas. She serves on the advisory council of the North Texas Chapter of the National Diversity Council and holds multiple certifications focused on diversity, leadership development and training. Ms. Woodson joins CBRE from Korn Ferry, where she served as a global DE&I senior manager.

'Ryan and LaTonya offer deep experience that will help CBRE accelerate measurable progress for DE&I,' said Tim Dismond, CBRE's Chief Responsibility Officer. 'Their insight and knowledge will help increase our gains in the priority areas of talent recruitment, development and retention, among other key initiatives.'

The addition of Mr. Mitchell and Ms. Woodson helps strengthen CBRE's DE&I strategy and efforts, specifically at the business-segment level. Their hiring follows Mr. Dismond's recent promotionto Chief Responsibility Officer, which brought together all aspects of the company's Environmental, Social & Governance efforts, including DE&I, under his leadership.

CBRE was recently one of six companies, and the only corporate real estate firm, named as a Leading Organization for Diversity & Inclusionby the Dallas Business Journal. The company also has recently been recognized for its efforts to advance women and LGBTQ employees through the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index(second year in a row) and the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index (eighth consecutive year).
