Cemex S.A.B. de C.V. said Tuesday it was adding almost 200 lower-carbon natural gas-powered trucks as it works to decarbonize its global fleet.

Over half of the new vehicles will be deployed in Mexico, with the remainder half split between Southern California and Colombia, the company said. The new trucks will replace diesel-powered trucks currently in the company's fleet, it added.

Cemex said it has a 2030 Scope 3 target to reduce transport carbon emissions by 20% and has the goal of reaching overall net-zero emissions by 2050.
