Centene Corporation announced the appointment of Matthew Snyder to Senior Vice President, Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk Management, as well as an enhanced organizational structure. These changes align with the company's focus on compliance and strategic objectives to further its growth and international presence. Mr. Snyder has more than 23 years of experience with increasing levels of leadership within organizations, most recently as partner of KPMG. His business and technology background combined with audit, risk management and compliance experience will be an asset to Centene as the company continues to evolve in a complex industry. Mr. Snyder will report to Michael F. Neidorff, Chairman and CEO for Centene. Several other organizational enhancements are underway: Effective January 1, 2019, Christopher Bowers, Executive Vice President, Markets, will continue to lead health plan market operations. Mr. Bowers will report to Mr. Neidorff. Also effective January 1, 2019, Brent Layton, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, who leads domestic and international business development, will also lead international operations and will continue to report to Mr. Neidorff. The company will be undertaking a search for a senior executive who will be responsible for assisting in the development of the growing international business. This new position will report to Mr. Layton. Cynthia Brinkley, who will retire February 15, 2019, will focus her efforts on an internal initiative, Centene Forward, which launched earlier in 2018, aiming to standardize administrative processes and create areas of excellence and innovation to ensure the company remains agile as it continues to grow. After Ms. Brinkley's retirement, Centene Forward will be co-led by Shannon Bagley, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Mark Brooks, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, and Jeffrey Schwaneke, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.
