NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Cerner Corp. (CERN) on Friday reported second-quarter net income of $32.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the North Kansas City, Missouri-based company said it had net income of 11 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 80 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.

The health care information technology company posted revenue of $1.46 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.44 billion.

Cerner expects full-year earnings to be $3.25 per share.

Cerner shares have increased slightly since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has risen 18%. The stock has increased 7% in the last 12 months.
