Chaparral Energy, Inc. (Chaparral) is an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company. The Company is engaged in the exploration, development, production, operation and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties. Chaparral's properties are located primarily in Oklahoma and its commodity products include crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. Chaparral has approximately 207,000 net surface acres in the Mid-Continent region. The Company is focused on the oil window of the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma, where it has approximately 120,000 net acres. The exploration and production operations include STACK, Meramec/Osage and Woodford. The STACK is located primarily below portions of Canadian, Kingfisher and Garfield counties in central Oklahoma. The Meramec and Osage intervals of the Mississippian are two of the oil-saturated reservoirs found above the Woodford formation. The Woodford Shale is the hydrocarbon source for STACK reservoirs.
