WILMINGTON, Mass. (AP) _ Charles River Laboratories International Inc. (CRL) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $102.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Wilmington, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of $2.03. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $2.33 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.80 per share.

The medical research equipment and services provider posted revenue of $743.3 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $715.7 million.

Charles River expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.75 to $7.85 per share.

Charles River shares have climbed 45% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 69% in the last 12 months.
