CP Foods Chicken Processing Plant showcases advance food production to the Brunei Delegation

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) has demonstrated its food production that are safe and sustainable throughout the supply chain to the delegation from Brunei Darussalam during their plant visit.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam along with, Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Thailand, and his delegation, including Department of Agriculture and Agrifood (DOAA), visited the CP Foods' Chicken Processing Plant in Nakhon Ratchasima, to learn about safe food production process with advance production technology that meet internationally-recognized food standards to feed consumers across the world in line with its "Kitchen of the World" vision.

The delegation was welcomed by Siripong Aroonratana, Chief Operations Officer at Foods. The visit aims at discussing the possibility at the bilateral agreement between Brunei and Thailand to strengthen and ensure food security in Brunei by buying poultry, shrimp and rice from Thailand.

During the plant visit, CP Foods showcased its operations, including chicken processing as well as ready-to-eat food production that focuses on quality, safety and traceability from farm to table". The company placed importance upon Animal Welfare, raising all of its animals with internationally recognized Five-Freedom principle that keep the chicken happy and healthy throughout their tine at farm, and thus, reduced antibiotic use. Moreover, CP Foods also displayed advance technology in food production such as cutting machine, automation, and CPF Digital Traceability.

The company also showcased its labour welfare system as well as sustainable production from alternative energy to the delegation.

"The Minister of Resources was impressed and praised CP Foods' operation for the advance production process as well as food quality and safety that in line with international standards. This plant visit has shown a good sign for cooperation in the near future," said Mr. Siripong.
