LPN Foundation thanks CP Foods for continually aiding migrant workers and vulnerable groups amid COVID-19 outbreak

The Labour Protection Network (LPN) Foundation, a human rights NGO, received 45,000 fresh eggs from Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc. (CP Foods) for migrant workers and vulnerable groups in Bangkok and surrounding areas.

Sompong Sakaeo, Director at the LPN Foundation, received the supplies from CP Foods' representative Pilun Tongphet. The donated eggs will be included in LPN's relief kit and distributed to people who are affected by the recent wave of Covid-19 outbreak in Thailand.

Sompong thanks CP Foods for continuously supported the LPN Hand to Hand assistance for migrant workers facing Covid-19 crisis in Thailand since the first wave of outbreak in the 2020. CP Foods has donated a total of 30,800 packs of ready meals and 171,800 fresh chicken eggs for the project so far.

He says the Covid-19 pandemic has hit hard on the livelihood of Thai and Migrant labours, who are the backbone of the country, as well as other vulnerable groups in Bangkok and nearby areas. The project aims at helping these groups of people to gain access to safe food and basic necessities for living sufficiently during the crisis.

'The LPN Foundation and project partners, including CP Foods, are provide a humanitarian relief for both Thai and migrant workers without discrimination. We have to make sure that no one is left behind,' the LPN director says.

The LPN Foundation has been a partner with CP Foods for four consecutive years. Together, they jointly set up the Labour Voice Hot Line by LPN project to provide opportunities for CP Foods' workers to voice their concern and suggestion through the third party. During the pandemic, the LPN Foundation also serves as a channel to provide advice for the company's migrant workers to raise awareness on disease prevention.
