(update relates to the third paragraph, Checkin.com guides only for the next few quarters)

Technology company Checkin.com has signed an agreement with Canadian airline group Westjet Group, according to a press release.

Under the agreement, the airline will identify travelers using Checkin's software, including biometric facial recognition.

While the agreement has a limited financial impact on Checkin in the next quarter, it is expected to show the strength of the offer after the company has landed another major airline group as a customer.

"Hopefully, this agreement is a first step towards replicating on a broader front the success we have had with the European airline we already work with", says CEO Christian Karlsson.

Westjet Group is Canada's second largest airline and the eighth largest in North America.
