Cherkizovo Group, Russia's largest meat producer, takes part in Agrocomplex, an international exhibition and forum held in Ufa. During the business part of the event, the Company announced its intention to invest RUB 5 bn in the expansion of broiler meat production capacities in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

From March 26 to 29, Ufa plays host to the agro-industrial forum and the 34th international exhibition Agrocomplex. 360 companies from 40 Russian regions, China, and Belarus are attending the event this year. The key focus of the forum is the transformation of Russia's agricultural industry in the new circumstances.

As one of the participants, Cherkizovo Group set up its own stand where the guests can talk to the Company's representatives, obtain product information, and learn more about the opportunities and plans nurtured by the leading Russian meat producer.

Maxim Zudin, member of the Management Board at Cherkizovo Group, delivered a speech at a plenary session focusing on transformation, digitalisation, and cooperation in Russia's agricultural industry. He spoke about the Company's production and investment plans, particularly about the large-scale upgrade of Bashkortostan's major agricultural facility and plans to ramp up poultry production in the region.

"Together with the Government of the Republic, we are championing poultry farming and reconstructing poultry farms. Our plans for this and next year include increasing broiler meat production from 65,000 to 95,000-97,000 tonnes of live-weight product. The second stage of the plan envisages ramping up production to 128,000 tonnes. The Company has already invested RUB 5.3 bn in its assets in Bashkortostan, with another RUB 5 bn earmarked for investments over the next two years," said Maxim Zudin.

In December 2022, Cherkizovo Group acquired a group of assets in Bashkortostan which include five poultry farms with an annual live-weight capacity of 65,000 tonnes of broiler meat, annual processing capacity of 25,000 tonnes, a feed mill with an annual capacity of 240,000 tonnes, and a land bank of 18,000 hectares. The poultry products of the Bashkir facilities are both sold domestically and exported.
