DOVER, Del. (AP) _ Chesapeake Utilities Corp. (CPK) on Tuesday reported first-quarter earnings of $34.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Dover, Delaware-based company said it had net income of $1.96.

The energy and utility company posted revenue of $191.2 million in the period.

Chesapeake Utilities shares have increased 10% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $119.40, a climb of 39% in the last 12 months.
