China Coal Energy Co.'s coal sales volume rose 27% in May, taking growth in the first five months of the year to 10%.

The company sold 92.5 million metric tons of coal in the January-to-May period, it said Monday.

China Coal produced 9.3 million tons of coal in May, up 3.8%. Coal production volume for the January-May period rose 5.2% to 43.9 million tons.
