China Communications Construction : Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge connected

Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge-the world's longest span road-rail steel truss cable-stayed bridge was connected in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on September 1. Partly invested and constructed by CCCC, the bridge, with a total length of 1,384 meters and a main span of 660 meters, connects Chongqing's Dadukou and Banan districts.

It has a two-way eight-lane expressway on its upper level and a reserved crossing river channel for rail transit line 18 on the lower level. The two main towers of the bridge adopt a drop-shaped concrete structure, which is 236 meters high, equivalent to 84 storeys. The steel trusses of the bridge weigh 44,300 tons in total, equivalent to 6.3 Eiffel Towers.
