ENTERING INTO AN EPC FRAMEWORK CONTRACT AGREEMENT FOR

THE MEGARUMA DAM AND THE WATER SUPPLY EXPANSION

PROJECT IN PEMBA CITY OF MOZAMBIQUE

This announcement is made by China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (the "Company") on a voluntary basis.

The board of directors of the Company (the "Board") is pleased to announce that, recently, China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd.* (中國葛洲壩集團國際工程有限公司), a subsidiary of China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd.* (中國葛洲壩集團股份有限公司) (a subsidiary of the Company) entered into an EPC framework contract agreement for the Megaruma dam and the water supply expansion project in Pemba City of Mozambique (the "Project") with the National Directorate of Water Resources Management and National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation of Mozambique.

The Project is located on the Megaruma River in Pemba City, the capital of the province of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, and its construction contents comprise of the construction of a clay core concrete gravity dam with a length of 2,713 meters and a height of 35 meters, a diversion channel with a length of 2 km, a plant with an installed capacity of 1×8.15 MW on the left bank of the river; construction and restoration of an access road with a length of 4.5 km; pavement of a water pipeline of DN1000mm and DN800mm with a length of 102.9 km; and construction of a water treatment station with a capacity of 2 square meters per second. The contract amount of the Project is approximately USD423 million.

The specific commercial cooperation mode, settlement method, time limit of performance and liability for breach of contract of the Project will be determined in the subsequent formal commercial contract agreement. The framework contract agreement shall be effective upon signing. The exclusive cooperation is valid for 18 months and subject to extension.
