On June 22, CGGC successfully signed the Commercial Contract for Power Transmission and Transformation Project of Section C of Nantun No. 1 Hydropower Station in Laos.The contract signing marks that CGGC has made new achievements in market expansion in Laos, and lays solid foundation for Nantun Hydropower Station to export its power to Thailand and achieve foreign exchange through transactions.

The Project involves the construction of three power transmission lines with a total length of 163km, including 1 x 500KV line and 2 x 115KV lines. The Owner PHONESACK Group is an investment group founded locally focusing on power, mining and urban infrastructure development, and is currently one of the largest enterprises in Laos.

As a leading enterprise for the construction of the 'Belt and Road', CGGC has set foot in Laos in 1990s, and has successively undertaken over 10 key projects including Houay Lamphan Gnai Hydropower Station, Nam Chiane Hydropower Project, Northern and Southern Rural Electrification Works, Sagger Irrigation Project, Sarah Long Irrigation Project, Sarah Long No. 2 Hydropower Station, etc. Meanwhile, CGGC proactively merges into local society, actively implements the social responsibilities, provides employment support and skill training to local people, and has made remarkable achievements for the social and economic development of Laos.

As the EPC General Contractor of the Project, CGGC will give full play to its technical and management advantages, allocate senior and efficient project execution team, guarantee to complete all kinds of work in a safe, high-quality and efficient manner, so as to lay a good foundation for the close cooperation between both parties and the expansion of markets in Laos, and promote the sustainable economic development of Laos.

It is learnt that Nantun No. 1 Hydropower Station Project is located on Nam Kading Rier in Bolikhamxiai Province in central Laos, and is about 250km to the east of Vientiane by south, with a total installed capacity of 474MW, a majority of which will be exported to Thailand.
