ANNOUNCEMENT IN RELATION TO THE APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTMENT QUALIFICATION OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd. (the "Company") received the Approval from the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission on the Qualification of Liu Jianjun and Wang Liang of China Merchants Bank (Yin Bao Jian Fu [2019] No. 809) recently. According to the approval, the appointment qualification of Mr. Liu Jianjun and Mr. Wang Liang as the directors of the Company has been approved.

The terms of Mr. Liu Jianjun and Mr. Wang Liang as the executive directors of the Company have taken effect from 25 August 2019, being the date of the approval, and shall expire at the conclusion of the Eleventh Session of the Board of Directors of the Company. For the biographical details of Mr. Liu Jianjun and Mr. Wang Liang, please refer to the circular regarding the 2018 annual general meeting of the Company dated 10 May 2019 published on the website of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
