(Stock Code: 2380) Power Generation and Electricity Sold for the First Quarter of 2016China Power International Development Limited (the "Company") announces that based on the Company's preliminary statistics, for the three months ended 31 March 2016, the combined total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group") amounted to 15,912,496MWh, representing an increase of 16.13% over the same period last year while its combined total electricity sold amounted to 15,313,738MWh, representing an increase of 16.61% over the same period last year.
During the first quarter of this year, the Group's hydropower plants principally located in Hunan Province recorded significant growth in power generation. In addition, the contribution from the new large capacity coal-fired power generating units as well as the new wind power plant and photovoltaic power stations that commenced operation, led to the increased total power generation and electricity sold in the first quarter as compared with the corresponding period last year.
The respective total power generation and total electricity sold of the Group's main power generating units for the three months ended 31 March 2016 are as follows:

Notes:
The two new coal-fired power generating units of Pingwei III of total installed capacity of 2,000MW commenced commercial operation during May and September 2015 respectively.
Yaomeng, was formerly named as Yaomeng II.
The hydropower generation in Sichuan Province continued to squeeze the space for coal-fired power generation of Fuxi, resulted in the significant decline in power generation for the first quarter of 2016.
As it was still the heat-supply season in the first quarter, CP Shentou was affected by the policy of given priority to the heating units in Shanxi Province, resulting in a substantial decline in the amount of local coal-fired power generation.
The twenty-five new wind power generating units of Donggangling of total installed capacity of 50MW commenced commercial operation in December 2015.
The new photovoltaic power station of Luoyang Yituo of total installed capacity of 6MW commenced commercial operation in March 2016.
The first 10MW installed capacity of the new photovoltaic power station of Jiaoganghu commenced commercial operation during the first quarter of 2016.
