Power Generation and Electricity Sold for the Year 2015

China Power International Development Limited (the "Company") announces that based on the Company's preliminary statistics, for the year ended 31 December 2015, the combined total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group") amounted to 63,531,141MWh, representing an increase of 2.98% year on year while its combined total electricity sold amounted to 60,868,493MWh, representing an increase of 3.24% year on year.

The increase in the accumulated power generation for the year 2015 as compared to the year 2014 was mainly due to (1) the additional power contribution from the large capacity coal-fired power generating units that commenced production, and (2) hydropower generation increased substantially in the fourth quarter as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

The respective total power generation and total electricity sold of the Group's main power generating units for the year ended 31 December 2015 are as follows:

Notes:

1. The two new coal-fired power generating units of Pingwei III of total installed capacity of 2,000MW commenced commercial operation during May and September 2015 respectively.

   
   

2. Yaomeng, was formerly known as Yaomeng II.

3. For Wan Mi Po and Gua Zhi hydropower plants, their electricity sold for the year 2015 were higher than that of their power generation because of some electricity sales rewarded by the power grid corporation during the year.

   
   

4. Sichuan Jiu Yuan was affected by the severe flooding occurred in late June 2015. Its power generating units were temporarily suspended for repairs, thus no power generation in the third quarter and resulted in the significant decline in power generation for the year 2015.

   
   

5. The twenty-five new wind power generating units of Yaoposhan of total installed capacity of 50MW commenced commercial operation during November to December 2014 and February 2015 respectively.

   
   

6. The thirty-three new wind power generating units of Shanshan of total installed capacity of 49.5MW commenced commercial operation in March 2015.

   
   

7. The twenty-five new wind power generating units of Donggangling of total installed capacity of 50MW commenced commercial operation in December 2015.

The figures set out in this announcement have not yet been audited and may differ with the final actual figures. Investors are reminded to exercise caution when dealing in the shares of the Company.
