Anthem of CREC-"Trailbreaker"

On September 14, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (abbreviated as "FIDIC") announced the shortlist for the 2021 FIDIC Project Awards in Switzerland. After worldwide competitive selection, primary recommendations of respective countries, and the final evaluation by the panelists, 22 projects from China, France, Canada, Australia, India and other countries were finally included in the shortlist. The "Chengdu-Guiyang High-speed Railway" jointly submitted by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group and China Railway Bridge Science Research Institute won a FIDIC Award of Excellence and was the only railroad project among seven winners of the award.

The Chengdu-Guiyang high-speed railway connects Chengdu (the hometown of pandas), Dujiangyan irrigation system-Qingcheng Mountain (both World Cultural Heritage sites), Mount Emei and the Leshan Giant Buddha (World Cultural and Natural Heritage), Yibin ("capital of liquor" and the first city from upstream down the Yangtze River), and Zhijin Cave (a Global Geopark), which together form China's most attractive high-speed rail tourism route. This safe, high-quality and green road exemplifies the perfect combination of ecological conversation and environmental protection with modern engineering technology in mountainous areas.

FIDIC is an authoritative international non-governmental organization in the global engineering consulting industry, which sets the international standards and defines the highest level of the sector. The FIDIC Project Awards are known as the "Nobel Prize" in the engineering consulting community, whose winners are universally projects that play a prominent role in the world economic and social development and have extensive international influence.
