Anthem of CREC-"Trailbreaker"

On February 22, the "Luwu" 1,000-ton tunnel-passing single girder erection machine, the first of its kind in China, successfully completed its first mission at the construction site of the Guangdong-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway project undertaken by China Railway Seventh Group. The machine was developed by China Railway Engineering Machinery Research & Design Institute, a subsidiary of China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co., Ltd.

The "Luwu" bridge girder erection machine comprises of a 1,000-ton single girder erection machine and a split mounting type girder carrier. It is China's first dual-mode single girder erection machine capable of operating longitudinally through truss holes with a tire-driven mode. The machine can quickly erect 40-meter and 32-meter-span concrete precast box girders weighing no more than 1,000 tons, with good adaptability to different working conditions.

The "Luwu" doubles the efficiency of traditional bridge erection machines. While it takes nearly a month for a traditional bridge erection machine to pass through tunnels, disassemble, re-install and transfer, it takes only one day for "Luwu" to pass through tunnels.
