China's First 5G-enabled Shiploading Operation Completed at Huanghua Port

As the "Huayuan 20"Ship departed Huanghua Port on January 5, the port's No. 12 shiploader finished its first 5G-enabled operation of loading 53,868 tonnes of coal after 20 hours. It marked the official use of 5G smart technology in shiploading at the port.

Included in the second list of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for 10 typical application scenarios?and five major industries of 5G plus industrial internet, Huanghua Port has successfully built a core system for 5G telecommunications. It has built 15 base stations, providing 5G access across the port. Through the research and application of smart shiploading system powered by 5G, Huanghua Port leverages 5G technology's characteristics of wide broadband and low latency, as well as 5G communication slicing technology, to transmit operation data to the intranet of the port with high efficiency. This enables the port to be the first in China to complete shiploading operation in an intelligent manner.

The successful application of 5G technology in smart shiploading operation laid a solid foundation for Huanghua Port to further the study of 5G telecommunications in higher-level areas, and create a top-notch private 5G telecommunications network that boasts the state-of-the-art technology, high efficiency, safety and reliability, and outstanding performance in satisfying business demand and keeping up with the progress of technology.
