CHINA SHENHUA ENERGY COMPANY LIMITED On August 23, Forbes China released ESG50 in China for the first time, and China Shenhua was among the list. ESG50 selects 50 companies with leading ESG performance from nearly 400 Chinese mainland companies listed on the Forbes 2022 The Global 2000, with reference to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The chosen companies cover various industries including finance, energy, construction engineering, real estate, Internet and electronics.
On the same day, Fortune magazine released its inaugural China ESG Influence list, a roster that includes China Shenhua. The list is open to all companies, either listed or unlisted, encouraging collection and disclosure of high-quality ESG data by more Chinese companies. The 40 enrolled companies pursue value creation after excelling financial targets, making a remarkable contribution to improving the environment, protecting employees and supporting communities.
SynTao Green Finance recently released ESG ratings for Q2, 2022, and China Shenhua scored "A-", ranking top 10% of the CSI300 Constituent Stocks. SynTao Green Finance focuses on green finance and ESG responsible investment in China, covering A-shares, Hong Kong Stock Connect, Chinese stocks listed in the U.S. among major issuers. It is the only local ESG rating agency in China with data linked to the Bloomberg terminal.
Recent years have witnessed the efforts of China Shenhua in improving the corporate ESG governance structure and the ESG system management, advancing ESG informatization, enhancing information disclosure, and promoting the standard, regular and digital corporate ESG governance. These efforts have been highly recognized by regulators, rating agencies and stakeholders. Going forward, China Shenhua will practice the concept of sustainable development and strive to become a benchmark of ESG governance for listed energy companies.
