The Self-developed Desk Dispatching Switch Box in Baoshen Railway Put into Use

The self-developed desk dispatching switch box was put into official use in Baoshen Railway on 19 April. Being part of efforts to realize Smart Baoshen Railway, this equipment will significantly improve the speed and accuracy of data transfer, increase the operation efficiency and reduce labor cost.

The desk dispatching equipment is the machine controller for the wagons depot in railway. It is also called handy portal, mainly used to ensure the safety and efficiency of wagon dispatching.

Based on the original system, Baoshen Railway kept improving and optimizing the system and made desk dispatching switch box through innovation and research. It adopted modular branching installation and replaced the controlling cable and sky feeder switch, which is easily out of service, with short connecting cable. When breakdown happens, related personnel only need to replace the short connecting cable. This will enable them to ensure the safety of the wagon dispatching and substantially reduce human resources, material and time. The use of the equipment has a practical contribution to the transportation and wagon-dispatching for the intense volume of the heavy-haul rail system.
