International Museum Day: CSCEC-built museum projects support cultural and natural sustainability

May 18th is the International Museum Day. CSCEC has built many well-known museum projects in China, integrating the idea of cultural and nature sustainability into the construction of these projects. Some of the typical museum projects are as follows:

Cultural Sustainability

CSCEC's design team made the appearance of building in the style of Chinese traditional culture, fulfilling culture through architectural design.

Shaannxi Archaeological Museum

The Shaanxi Archaeological Museum is the first archaeological museum in China to date. The museum building design incorporates the Tang Dynasty architecture and garden aesthetics, harmonizing with the ecological and cultural styles of the Qinling area and the millennial ancient temples.

New exhibition hall of Hubei Provincial Museum

The project，when viewed from above, resembles a "Ding" (an ancient Chinese vessel). The structure of the museum uniquely incorporates a complete glass curtain wall, directly using the natural landscape as the design style of the building facade.

Sui-Tang Dynasties Grand Canal Cultural Museum

The overall architectural idea of Sui-Tang Dynasties Grand Canal Cultural Museum is from the profile features of buildings of Sui and Tang Dynasties, with the design of Luoyang City, the capital city of Sui and Tang Dynasties in ancient China.

New extension of Kaifeng Museum

The project is a comprehensive history museum. The building is pyramid-shaped, combining the architecture of the Song Dynasty with modern technology.

The projects constructed by CSCEC, which have distinct cultural characteristics, are fulfilling their role of cultural heritage preservation once they are completed and put into use.

New hall of Chengdu Museum

The new hall of Chengdu Museum boasts the largest collection of shadow puppets in the world in terms of quantity, variety, and quality. It also stands as the biggest museum in China to implement seismic isolation measures and is the largest urban museum in the Southwest region.

Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum

The Jingdezhen Royal Kiln Museum is a thematic museum that preserves historical culture, creating a city space resonant with the "porcelain capital".

New building of Sanxingdui Museum

The project is a large-scale, world-class museum that showcases the ancient Shu culture found at the Sanxingdui archaeological site, aiming to be a comprehensive institution for protection, research, science education, cultural experience, and tourism.

Canal Museum in Dezhou

The project of the museum Group inherits the intangible cultural heritage of the canal. After completion, it will become the hub of Qilu cultural tourism, the urban 'living room' of Dezhou history and culture, and an important landmark of the Grand Canal cultural and economic belt.

Natural Sustainability

The CSCEC team aims to inherit the intangible heritage of the Grand Canal. Once completed, it will serve as a pivotal gateway for Qilu cultural tourism, a living room for Dezhou's historical culture, and a significant landmark on the Grand Canal cultural belt.

Hong Kong Palace Museum

The smart cloud-based platform for construction sites built by CSCEC applies Internet of Things technology, which is used to monitor 8 kinds of environmental data such as PM2.5, PM10, noise, and temperature in real time. Set up a real-time monitoring system for building dust, which can automatically turn on the linkage spray dust suppression device when the dust is higher than the default value.

The dust monitoring equipment willautomatically activate a linkage dust suppression device when dust levels exceed the default value.

The Reconstruction Project of Tibet Museum

The project fully utilizes plateau renewable solar and wind energy for heating, lighting, and ventilation. It has laid 3500 square meters of active groove solar heat collection panels on the roof, with a heat collection efficiency of 70% to 75%.

Suining Song Porcelain Culture Center

Suining Song Porcelain Culture Center strives to create a green benchmark project for urban cultural complexes, a center of cultural vitality, a wetland cultural park, a landmark building in Sichuan and Chongqing, and a public center committed to citizen integration, science and education popularization, and sustainable operation.

The comprehensive natural history museum project, built by CSCEC, is designed to create a harmonious combination of architecture and landscape.

Chengdu Natural History Museum

The Chengdu Natural History Museum is an irregularly shaped public building and, to date, the largest natural history museum in terms of built volume in Southwest China. Spaces between the buildings form open public areas, and the transparent glass curtain walls create a strong contrast between solid and void in the design.

Xuzhou Garden Expo Park

The Xuzhou Garden Expo Park, based on the concept of gardens, creatively leverages the landscape to establish two east-west physical landscape galleries - "The Glamour of China Gallery" and "The Canal Culture Gallery", as well as a Han gallery that links the southern and northern ridges and lakes.

Wuhan Garden Expo Park

The project has a total area of 213.77 hectares, equivalent to 299 standard football fields. CSCECers have utilized aerobic ecological restoration technology and site sealing remediation technology to achieve ecological restoration of the park.
