3. Year on year performance summary:
The consolidated income before income tax for 2021 increased by NT$ 81.645 billion compared to the previous year. Benefiting from the strong recovery of steel market, the ASP of steel department increased following the market trend. The increase of ASP, surpassing that of ASC, contributed to the higher operating income. Besides, the investment income from iron ore investments was higher year on year.
