EWING, N.J. (AP) _ Church & Dwight Co. (CHD) on Friday reported second-quarter earnings of $189.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Ewing, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 75 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 77 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 63 cents per share.

The maker of household and personal products posted revenue of $1.19 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.15 billion.

Church & Dwight shares have climbed 28% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 18% in the last 12 months.
