EWING, N.J. (AP) _ Church & Dwight Co. (CHD) on Friday reported fourth-quarter profit of $158.1 million.

On a per-share basis, the Ewing, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 64 cents.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 58 cents per share.

The maker of household and personal products posted revenue of $1.37 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.35 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $827.5 million, or $3.32 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.19 billion.

Church & Dwight expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.14 to $3.26 per share.

Church & Dwight shares have decreased nearly 4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 12% in the last 12 months.
