The recent survey found that 39% of respondents want to shop online to be more energy efficient while 33% are willing to work from home and 29% would have virtual consultations with doctors in an attempt to be more sustainable.
"It is clear that end users see the internet as an important element not only in their daily lives, but also towards supporting a more sustainable future," explains
Other survey highlights include:
* Willingness to increase spending -53% of the respondents are willing to pay higher costs for more bandwidth, a stable connection (48%), and a higher level of security (44%).
* Uses of the internet - The #1 application when it comes to using the internet was social networking, followed by entertainment as second and gaming as third. In addition, one out of ten cited online shopping as the most important use case when it comes to leveraging the internet.
* Most valued features - A stable connection with high availability was the most important technical feature for 35% of respondents. This was more important than security (27%), followed closely by a fast connection (26%).
