PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Cinemark Holdings Inc. (CNK) on Friday reported fourth-quarter net income of $5.7 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Plano, Texas-based company said it had profit of 5 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 14 cents per share.

The movie theater owner posted revenue of $666.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $597.4 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $422.8 million, or $3.55 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.51 billion.
