CINCINNATI (AP) _ Cintas Corp. (CTAS) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $284.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Cincinnati-based company said it had net income of $2.62.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.18 per share.

The uniform rental company posted revenue of $1.76 billion in the period, meeting Street forecasts.

Cintas shares have increased 29% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 14%. The stock has climbed 29% in the last 12 months.
