Miami, FL - For the 19th consecutive year, Citi was recognized with the 2022 Best Sub-custodian Bank Award in Latin America by Global Finance Magazine. Additionally, Citi also won Best Sub-custodian Bank in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Chile (Banco de Chile*).

"The industry has emerged from the uncertainties of the past two years more resilient than ever. At Citi, we have maintained our commitment to our clients, employees, and markets that we do business in to be a trusted advisor and partner, focused on the development of the local capital markets across the region," said Ricardo Hesse, Head of Securities Services for Latin America, Citi. "We are proud to be recognized once again with the overall sub-custody award in Latin America and in seven individual markets in the region."

The awards recognize the institutions that reliably provide the best services in local markets and regions based on market research, input from expert sources and entries from banks to select the award-winning institutions.

The market uncertainty this past year influenced Citi to continue investing in its innovation strategy to digitalize technology infrastructure to ensure transparency and zero impact to clients through the bank's network of operations and services. Additionally, Citi worked with local market regulators and market infrastructures entities to develop conditions to increase capital market liquidity.

Through the industry-leading proprietary network spanning over 60 markets, Citi's custody business provides clients with in-depth local market expertise, advanced processing technologies for asset servicing and transactions, and a wide range of fund services that can be tailored to meet clients' needs.

In the Americas, in addition to its domestic custody in the U.S., Citi is the leading custody provider with a dominant local presence in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Panama.
