CLP Holdings Limited (CLP) is pleased its high standard of corporate governance and company reporting has again been recognised by an array of top awards in Hong Kong and overseas, a testament to the Group's ongoing efforts on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and commitment to create long-term value for stakeholders.

Earlier this month, CLP won the Grand SC?ESG Award, conferred by the Hong Kong Government's Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) Committee, at the inaugural SC?ESG Awards. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, the CIIF committee evaluated Hong Kong-listed companies on a range of social capital attributes including brand trust and stakeholder relationships, which are regarded as key resources for promoting sustainable social development. In the recent Best Corporate Governance and ESG Awards organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, CLP received the top-of-show Platinum prize in the Most Sustainable Companies / Organizations Awards in the Hang Seng Index category. Adjudicators highlighted CLP's 'outstanding performance' on both corporate governance and ESG fronts, as well as the Group's commitment to put 'sustainability at the centre of its operations.'

CLP also took home the Distinction Award in the large-sized organisations category at the Hong Kong Sustainability Award 2022, organised by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA). Besides, CLP was winner of the Gold Prize in the General category at the HKMA's 2022 Best Annual Reports Awards, in addition to the Best ESG Reporting Award for a public utility. 'CLP's longstanding commitment to sustainability has continued to guide our business as we navigate global challenges including the energy crisis in a year of uncertainty,' said Richard Lancaster, Chief Executive Officer of CLP. 'Underpinning this sustainable approach to business is our transparency and accountability to stakeholders. We are pleased that our high standard on governance and company reporting is gaining recognition.' CLP's company reporting also continued to earn awards overseas, winning two Gold Awards at the Australasian Reporting Awards, in the General Award and Sustainability Reporting Award categories. It was the fourth consecutive year for CLP to receive both accolades. At the Annual International ARC Awards, CLP's Annual Report was a Best of Category winner for written text.

For the first time, CLP adopted a double materiality approach to make its reporting more integrated. In response to increasing interest in CLP's response to climate change and its impact on business, CLP launched its first standalone Climate-related Disclosures Report in 2022.
