Oslo, Norway - 02 February 2023

CO2 Capsol today announced it will establish an office in Berlin, Germany,
during first quarter of 2023. The initiative is in line with the company's
strategy to expand its geographical footprint according to market demand, both
organically and by partnering with leading industrial groups.

"We are committed to accelerate the world's transition to a carbon negative
future with our energy-efficient and cost competitive carbon capture
technologies, which requires scale. Having an office in Berlin strengthens our
capabilities to win and execute projects in Germany, the country in Europe with
largest potential for carbon capture, storage, and utilisation," says Jan
Kielland, CEO of CO2 Capsol.

Germany is by far the largest CO2 emitter in Europe with a total of around 700
million tonnes of CO2 per year. Germany is also the largest market for
Waste-to-Energy (WtE) in the EU with approximately 100 plants turning 46 million
tonnes of non-recyclable waste into heat and electricity annually.

As announced on 8 November 2022, CO2 Capsol has secured a 12-month contract for
the delivery of two CapsolGo® demonstration campaigns in Germany with
operational start early 2023, one at an Energy-from-Waste (EfW) and one at a
biomass-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, both of a major German energy
company.

The Berlin office will be led by Moritz Köpcke who brings with him substantial
experience from previous positions as CO2 capture technology expert in
Scandinavia and Germany, and from project management, construction, and
operation of biogas plants.

"I am very excited to join CO2 Capsol and work together with colleagues,
partners, and clients to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions from the industry.
Carbon capture will play an important role in helping Germany achieving its goal
to be climate neutral by 2045," says Moritz Köpcke.

In January 2023, Norway and Germany agreed to discuss various options for CO2
infrastructure and value chains, including a CO2 pipeline from Germany to
Norway. Germany will continue to play an active role in developing a uniform
framework for the certification of carbon removal in the EU which is also
supported by Norway.
