COFCO Tunhe Chairman Mr Xia Linghe visited Tully Sugar Limited during May 22-24.

Mr. Xia was welcomed by the Chairman of Tully Sugar, Mr. Dick Camilleri. Tully Sugar CEO Mr. Alick Osborne delivered a presentation on the industrial strategy for Tully Sugar, which includes further investment in the factory to improve efficiency and increase capacity.

Mr Xia toured the factory to see firsthand the progress that has been made to prepare the Tully Mill for crushing new crop cane in June. Mr. Xia visited one of Tully Sugar's own farms where 180 hectares of cane were planted in 2012. The new cane is in good condition and will be harvested progressively from June to November. Another 180 hectares of land has been prepared for planting in 2013 to continue to farm expansion and secure supply to the Mill. Farm Manager Mr. Jeff Finlayson explained the process that is undertaken to prepare land for planting, and the management of the planting and growing of cane in Australia.

The next item on the schedule was a visit to Bradken Limited. Tully Sugar awarded a contract to Bradken to manufacture new cane bins. The first of these bins will be delivered in June this year. Mr. Xia inspected new bins on display at the workshop, paying particular attention to the new coupling system that will be used for the first time. The bins will increase Tully Sugar's logistics capacity and improve the efficiency of our cane rail system.

Mr Xia also visited the Mourilyan sugar terminal and inspected the 180,000 tonne port terminal facility. All of the sugar produced at Tully is exported through this facility.

COFCO Tunhe executives Madame Yang Hong and Mr Li Ming accompanied his visit.
