PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $157 million.

The Portland, Oregon-based company said it had profit of $2.39 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.78 per share.

The maker of outdoor gear posted revenue of $1.13 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.06 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $354.1 million, or $5.33 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.13 billion.

Columbia Sportswear expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.50 to $5.80 per share, with revenue in the range of $3.63 billion to $3.69 billion.
