St. Joseph, MO - November 16, 2020 -- Commerce Bank announced today that Brendon Clark, currently Business Banking Team Lead has been promoted to President of the St. Joseph market effective December 1, 2020, assuming the role currently held by Corky Marquart, who has been with Commerce for 34 years and has served in the market president role since 2014.

Before joining Commerce, Marquart received her BS in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University and graduated from the Bank Administration Institute Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. She passed the CPA exam in 1990. Corky served in leadership roles on the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and MWSU Foundation Boards.

'St. Joseph is an important market to Commerce and well positioned for the future with strong, local leadership', said Marquart. Marquart is still active with several other community projects and committees.

With her retirement on December 31st, Marquart has worked closely with Clark, who will be directing the St. Joseph region for Commerce as market president. In this role, Clark will be responsible for the overall administration of Commerce Bank's St. Joseph region overseeing banking operations and continuing business development and relationship management related to Commerce's full line of banking, borrowing and treasury management solutions for commercial clients.

Clark began his career with Commerce Bank in June of 2015 as commercial banking relationship manager. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Missouri Western State University in 2005. Clark is active in the community, including serving as a board member for several community organizations including, Allied Arts Council of Saint Joseph, Family Guidance Center for Behavioral Healthcare, and the St. Joseph Eastside Rotary.
