Compagnie des Alpes published its sales figures for the first quarter of 2020-2021 and presented its outlook for the rest of the year, after business was at a standstill for most of the period, and at a time when the government has just announced the closure of the ski lifts, probably until the end of the season.

Dominique Marcel, on BFM Business, talked about the impact of a season that has been largely cut short: 'There is an underestimation of the extent of the damage. It's going to be human as well as economic drama for a whole territory. The CDA has a certain strength and a shareholding, but this is not the case for many others, but we need all the other actors, out of solidarity, because we are making a united chain to make this mountain attractive'.
