HOLON, Israel (AP) _ Compugen Ltd. (CGEN) on Wednesday reported a loss of $7.1 million in its first quarter.

The Holon, Israel-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 10 cents per share.

Compugen shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than quadrupled in the last 12 months.
