(Alliance News) - Computacenter PLC on Wednesday said it hired Christian Jehle as its new chief financial officer to succeed Tony Conophy, who will be retiring.

The Hatfield, Hertfordshire-based computer services firm said Jehle will join between March 24 and July 1 next year.

The firm added that Conophy will be stepping down as CFO upon Jehle joining. Conophy has been Computacenter's group finance director since 1998.

Jehle is currently the CFO and executive director for the UK & Ireland division of Dublin-based credit checking company Experian PLC. Prior to which, he held the CFO role of Global Decision Analytics at Experian.

Chief Executive Officer Mike Norris said: "We are delighted to appoint Christian in the role of chief financial officer. His career to date has been characterised by leading transformations of finance functions to ensure that they are best in class and fit for purpose for continually expanding and changing businesses."

Shares were down 0.4% at 1,852.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
