SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) _ Cornerstone OnDemand Inc. (CSOD) on Thursday reported a loss of $15.8 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Santa Monica, California-based company said it had a loss of 25 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and non-recurring costs, were 51 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.

The developer of human-resources software posted revenue of $199.5 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in December, Cornerstone OnDemand said it expects revenue in the range of $194 million to $197 million.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $728 million to $731 million.

Cornerstone OnDemand shares have dropped 29% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $41.47, a decline of 27% in the last 12 months.
