Announcement on Appointment of New Executive Officer and DX strategy of Cosmo Energy Group

Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. ("Cosmo") announces the appointment of Ms. Noriko Rzonka as CDO (Chief Digital Officer) as of November 1, 2021 and strongly propel our DX (Digital Transformation) strategy of the entire Cosmo Energy Group ("the Group").
The details are as follows:

2. About the DX strategy of Cosmo Energy Group

In order to achieve the target on the 6th Consolidated Medium-Term Management Plan (2018-2022), "Oil & New" ("the Plan"), the Group has been working on adoption of IT, such as aggressively introducing PRA.

Since the formulation of the Plan, however, the Fourth Industrial Revolution (growths and changes due to big-data, IoT, AI, etc.) has progressed rapidly to a point far beyond the adoption of IT, and the Plan needs to be quickly revised. Cosmo has determined that the Group is urgently in need of business model transformation so as to build digital technology into it.

With this recognition, Cosmo set the goal as the realization of a corporate culture in which digital permeates, so that the Group can fit in and grow in the digital society.

Cosmo will establish "Corporate DX Strategy Dept." under direct control of the Group CEO and appoint Ms. Noriko Rzonka Ph.D., professional for data science and DX strategy, as the CDO and the General Manager of the Corporate DX Strategy Dept.

Under control of the CDO, the "Corporate DX Strategy Dept." will formulate the DX strategy of the Group in 2021 and aim for full-scale startup from 2022. Specific policies are as follows:

• 1. Improving Customer Experience (CX)
• 2. Fostering DX human resources centered on digital and data science throughout the Group
• 3. Motivating for speedy innovation and building a sustainable organization

Cosmo will continue to supply stable energy, expand clean energy centered on wind power generation, and support customers' car life, mobility and living and Cosmo will strongly drive DX strategy to meet the expectations of our customers and societies.
