Costco Wholesale Corp. recently warned its customers that their payment card information may have been stolen. The company found a payment card skimming device in one of its warehouses, according to a report by Bleeding Computer.

Costo removed the skimming device and alerted authorities as well as its customers in a letter.

"We recently discovered a payment card skimming device at a Costco warehouse you recently visited," Costco said in a letter to potentially impacted customers. "Our member records indicate that you swiped your payment card to make a purchase at the affected terminal during the time the device may have been operating."

The company has also warned customers that their data was likely stolen and for them to monitor all bank and credit card statements for fraudulent charges.
