Countryside Partnerships : Double shortlisting for Countryside at the Building London Planning Awards 2022

We are thrilled to have been shortlisted twice for Best Community Engagement Outcomes at the Building First Planning Awards 2022; having been recognised for both our regeneration of the Cambridge Road Estate with Kingston Council and our Acton Gardens regeneration scheme in partnership with L&Q and Ealing Council.

The Building London Planning Awards, now in its 18th year, organised by London First, in partnership with the Mayor of London, celebrate and champion the outstanding town planning and creative development from across London's built environment sector.

Our regeneration of the Cambridge Road Estate, through a joint-venture partnership with Kingston Council, has been recognised for the way that the energy and expertise from the community has shaped the planning application, enabling broad support for our ambitious plans to deliver the 2,170 new homes, green spaces, play areas, safer streets, and neighbourhoods. This culminated in a successful planning application in December 2021, which followed a successful residents' ballot in March 2020 when residents voted overwhelmingly in favour of the plans to regenerate their neighbourhood.

At Acton Gardens, our 3,400-home regeneration of the former South Acton estate, our partnership with L&Q and Ealing Council has been shortlisted on account of its successful community engagement, which is a principle of the regeneration. Through community-based projects which involve residents in imagining, planning, and designing new housing, public spaces, community facilities and local services, 85% of residents believe that Acton has significantly improved since the regeneration began.
